For Immediate Release: December 7, 2021

Help end the pandemic by wearing a mask over both your nose and mouth, washing your hands frequently, and getting vaccinated

Treatment for COVID-19 Infections

As Alexandria returns to high levels of community spread, more residents are sick with COVID-19 or have a sick loved one. Most mild cases of COVID-19 can be managed at home using over the counter medicines to treat symptoms. Those who are at high risk of severe disease͢—such as older adults, pregnant people and those with underlying medical conditions—should consult their healthcare provider about whether an FDA approved or authorized treatment can reduce their risk of hospitalization or death. The best treatment is prevention. Find a vaccine appointment at alexandriava.gov/Vaccines
