Department Makes Arrest in Fatal Arlandria Crash

**UPDATE (11/18/21 10:35 P.M.) – A warrant for involuntary manslaughter has been issued for the driver, 45-year-old Fredy Ortiz-Dominguez of Hyattsville, MD. Mr. Ortiz-Dominguez has turned himself in to police custody earlier this evening and is currently being held at the Alexandria Detention Center without bail.

**UPDATED (11/15/21 6:30 P.M.) - The victim is Roy Saravia Alvarez, a city of Alexandria resident.
ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Alexandria Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
At approximately 8:10 p.m. Saturday evening, APD officers responded to a crash in the 200 block of West Glebe Road. Upon arrival, officers determined that the incident involved a single vehicle striking a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced at the scene. The identity of the victim is being held for 24-hours after the next of kin is notified.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and sustained no injuries.
