Alexandria Police Department Continues Investigation of Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash

The Alexandria Police Department continues to investigate a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred on New Year’s Day and are asking witnesses to come forward to share information.

At approximately 6:27 p.m. on January 1, 2021, police responded to the intersection of Duke and South Pickett Streets for a pedestrian struck.  The initial investigation indicates Mr. Harold Reubin, a 72-year-old Alexandria resident, was crossing South Pickett Street when he was struck by a dark colored Toyota RAV-4 (like the vehicle pictured below).  The driver of the RAV-4 fled the scene southbound on South Pickett Street.  Mr. Reubin was transported to the hospital.  He succumbed to his injuries on January 19, 2021.
