[Archived] Park & Recreation Commission to Hold Public Hearing on FY 2021 Community Matching Fund

The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to receive information and recommendations from staff on the applications received for the Fiscal Year 2021 Community Matching Fund on Thursday, October 15 at 7 p.m. Following the public hearing, the Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic emergency, the October 15, 2020 meeting of the Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission is being held electronically pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3708.2(A)(3), the Continuity of Government ordinance adopted by the City Council on June 20, 2020 or Sections 4-0.00(g) in HB29 and HB30 to undertake essential business. All of the members of the Board and staff are participating from remote locations through a Zoom Webinar. This meeting is being held electronically, unless a determination is made that it is safe enough to be held in person in the City Council Chamber at 301 King Street, Alexandria, VA. Electronic access will be provided in either event. The meeting can be accessed by the public through the Zoom Hyperlink and/or phone number below.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities established the Community Matching Fund (Fund) with the approval of the FY 2017-FY 2026 Capital Improvement Budget. The Fund promotes collaborative partnerships among City of Alexandria community organizations by providing matching 1:1 dollars for groups that propose fundraising for park and recreation improvement projects.

FY2021 Community Matching Fund Applications will be posted on the Park & Recreation Commission website.
