[Archived] City of Alexandria to Resurface Portion of King Street Beginning July 27

City of Alexandria to Resurface Portion of King Street Beginning July 27

Next week, the City of Alexandria, through its Public Works Services Division, will begin milling and resurfacing the portion of King Street between South 28th Street and South 25th Street. The work will start on Monday, July 27, and is expected to end on Friday, July 31, weather permitting. Due to high traffic volumes during the day, paving will take place overnight on weeknights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic and parking in the immediate and surrounding areas may be redirected during work hours. Please observe all parking and detour signage.

Residents who may be directly affected will receive advance notice by way of hand delivered letters, and/or displayed construction project signs.

City staff will be onsite managing the project; roads will fully reopen to traffic at the end of each shift.

The City recognizes that night paving may be an inconvenience to residents living along this section of King Street. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to improve the City’s infrastructure.
