Department of Transportation and Environmental Services Announces Reopening Phases for Resource Recovery

The City of Alexandria has announced reopening phases for resource recovery services offered by the Department of Transportation and Environmental Services (T&ES). The timing of the T&ES reopening phases is anticipated to align with the phases in the Governor’s “Forward Virginia” blueprint for Northern Virginia, but is subject to change.

The following outlines the City’s plan for resuming waste management/resource recovery services provided by the department. The City is still determining a timeline for lifting COVID-related changes to parking and parking enforcement; many residents continue to have special parking needs as they follow the state's Safest at Home guidance.
