[Archived] City of Alexandria Announces Changes to Planning and Zoning Meeting Schedules Due to COVID-19

For Immediate Release: March 26, 2020

To promote social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting schedules for the Planning Commission, Board of Architectural Review and Board of Zoning Appeals have been changed as follows:

These changes are intended to reduce risk for the public, applicants, board and commission members and City staff, while ensuring the continuity of government in accordance with the ordinance adopted by the Alexandria City Council on March 24. The public is encouraged to follow meetings live on Comcast Channel 70, or online at alexandriava.gov/Dockets, rather than attending in person. Applicants, speakers and other meeting participants should check each meeting entry on alexandriava.gov/Calendar as the date approaches for online or telephone alternatives to in-person attendance. Any required legal notice that has already been issued for a public hearing will be reissued if the hearing is postponed or canceled.

For information about these meetings, call the Department of Planning & Zoning at 703.746.4666.

For inquiries from the news media only, contact Craig Fifer, Director of Communications and Public Information, at craig.fifer@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.3965.
