[Archived] City of Alexandria Spring and Summer Recreation Program Registration Postponed

For Immediate Release: March 17, 2020

The Alexandria Health Department recommends that all community members change their daily behavior to reduce risk from COVID-19 Coronavirus, particularly to protect our most vulnerable populations. The City of Alexandria has already taken proactive measures to further reduce risk and encourages all organizations and individuals to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a result, the opening of spring and summer registration has been postponed to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1 for City residents and Friday, April 3 for nonresidents. Spring and summer registration applies to classes, leagues and activities offered by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) that occur April through August 2020. If it is deemed necessary, any additional adjustments to the registration date will be posted online prior to April 1.

Visit alexandriava.gov/Recreation for RPCA registration, program, and facility operating status updates; to learn more about recreation programs offered by the City; or to register.
