For Immediate Release January 7, 2020

Due to pending inclement weather, all City of Alexandria offices and facilities will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7. As a result, parents are required to pick up children by 2 p.m. from all recreation centers.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities announces the following impacts:

The Out of School Time afterschool program will take place until the facilities close at 2 p.m. Alexandria City Public Schools are closing 2 hours early and upon school dismissal, participants in the Out of School Time afterschool program are being transported to their designated recreation centers.
The Nature Buddies afterschool program at the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center is cancelled.
The Torpedo Factory Art Center will close at 2 p.m.
All activities presented by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities beginning after 2 p.m. are cancelled.
