[Archived] Inclement Weather Early Closure Announcement for January 7

For Immediate Release January 7, 2020

Due to pending inclement weather, all City of Alexandria offices and facilities will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7. As a result,  parents are required to pick up children by 2 p.m. from all recreation centers.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities announces the following impacts: 

• The Out of School Time afterschool program will take place until the facilities close at 2 p.m. Alexandria City Public Schools are closing 2 hours early and upon school dismissal, participants in the Out of School Time afterschool program are being transported to their designated recreation centers. 
• The Nature Buddies afterschool program at the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center is cancelled.
  
• The Torpedo Factory Art Center will close at 2 p.m.
• All activities presented by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities beginning after 2 p.m. are cancelled.
