For Immediate Release: December 9, 2019
The City of Alexandria will host the 2020 Housing Summit on January 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St.). This full-day event will examine the progress of the 2013 Housing Master Plan and explore bold new ideas to address the City’s affordable housing challenges and opportunities in 2020 and beyond. In the event of inclement weather, the 2020 Housing Summit will be postponed to February 1.
This summit is for those interested in learning about Alexandria’s affordable housing policies, goals and achievements. The discussion during the summit will help shape the City’s efforts to support the development and preservation of future affordable housing. It will feature bus tours highlighting affordable housing development in Alexandria and exhibits spotlighting affordable housing and community service providers. Plenary and breakout sessions will focus on Housing Master Plan targets and accomplishments; the role of equity, partnerships, and regional collaboration; and new initiatives and tools in achieving affordable and workforce housing goals.
Registration for this free event is required. Free childcare and language interpretation services will be available by request only as part of the advance registration process.
