[Archived] Alexandria City Council to Hold Budget and Work Planning Retreat on November 2

For Immediate Release: October 28, 2019

The Alexandria City Council will hold a retreat meeting on November 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Alexandria Renew Enterprises (1800 Limerick St.), to discuss the Fiscal Year 2021 General Fund Operating Budget planning process and develop City Council’s Calendar Year 2020 Work Program.

During the budget portion of the retreat, City Council will be briefed on the City’s financial outlook, employee compensation issues, and Alexandria City Public Schools operating budget projections; and receive input from the City’s Budget and Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee.

City Council will also participate in a discussion to develop its 2020 Work Program, which will identify the policies and initiatives City Council is committed to working on during the calendar year. Once approved, the plan will serve as a “living document” for City Council, subject to periodic amendment.

The retreat is open to the public, but will not include public comment. Parking will be available in the garage to the left of the main entrance.
