[Archived] Security Enhancements and Law Enforcement Partnerships at Warwick Pool

For Immediate Release: August 1, 2019

Throughout the month of July, occurrences of overnight water contamination resulted in intermittent temporary closures of Warwick Pool (3301 Landover St.). As a result, the Alexandria Police Department has increased presence in the area. And, to protect City property and minimize the impact on pool operations and the public, additional lighting and security cameras have been installed.

In an effort to heighten awareness of crime prevention and strengthen law enforcement community partnerships, the Alexandria Police Department and other City agencies will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. at various locations across Alexandria. Warwick Park (3301 Landover St.), which is adjacent to the outdoor pool, will be a host site for Warwick Village Citizens Association.

In addition, Memorial Pool at Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe St.) will celebrate National Night Out with free admission to the outdoor pool from 5 to 8 p.m., a moon bounce, face painting, games and a cookout.
