[Archived] Park & Recreation Commission to Hold Public Hearing on FY 2020 Community Matching Fund

The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to receive information and recommendations from staff on the applications received for the FY2020 Community Matching Fund on Thursday, May 16, 7 p.m., at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. Following the public hearing, the Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities established the Community Matching Fund (Fund) with the approval of the FY 2017-FY 2026 Capital Improvement Budget. The Fund promotes collaborative partnerships among City of Alexandria community organizations by providing matching 1:1 dollars for groups that propose fundraising for park and recreation improvement projects. 

Following the public hearing, applications will be posted on the Park & Recreation Commission website. Individuals unable to attend the public hearing may send written comment to Dana Wedeles at Dana.Wedeles@alexandriava.gov or RPCA / Dana Wedeles, 1108 Jefferson St., Alexandria VA 22314 through Friday, May  31.
