For Immediate Release: March 29, 2019
In cooperation with the City of Alexandria, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is conducting a study to assess the feasibility of using the old Patrick Henry School facility as temporary swing space to accelerate the modernization of Douglas MacArthur Elementary School. The study follows the January 2018 recommendations of the Ad-Hoc Joint City-Schools Facilities Investment Task Force, which proposed advancing elementary modernizations if swing space could be identified.
ACPS will hold a second citywide community meeting on Monday, April 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the cafetorium at the new Patrick Henry Elementary School (4643 Taney Ave.). The meeting will also be streamed live via the ACPS Facebook page and website for those who are unable to attend in person.
