[Archived] Police Charge Teenager for School Bomb Threat

For Immediate Release: February 12, 2019

The Alexandria Police Department has made an arrest in a series of incidents targeting a local middle school.

A juvenile was charged with False Summoning of Law Enforcement Officials and Threats to Bomb related to phone calls regarding Francis C. Hammond Middle School that were made between December 2018 and February 2019. The repeated calls caused a disruption of education for students, and requests to neighboring jurisdictions for police assistance in searching the building for possible threats to students and staff.

The Alexandria Police Department takes all threats against our area schools seriously. Anyone with more information about these incidents is asked to call Detective James Pond at 703.746.6703.
