[Archived] Alexandria Police Investigate a Homicide, Suspect Charged

For Immediate Release: January 12, 2019

The Alexandria Police Department is conducting a death investigation in the Unit block of S. Van Dorn Street.

At approximately 11:55 p.m. on January 11, 2019, police were dispatched for a death at a residence. Upon arriving, officers located a deceased 35-year-old City resident.

The male suspect, a 44-year-old City resident, was charged with Murder this evening.

The victim’s and suspect’s names are being withheld until the victim’s next of kin can be notified. The individuals were known to each other.

This is the first homicide in Alexandria this year.
