[Archived] Police Investigate Fatal Crash at Duke Street and 395

For Immediate Release: December 5, 2018

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Duke Street and 395.

At approximately 10:03 p.m., police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck on the ramp from Duke Street to 395 southbound. Initial investigation indicates Nelson Javier Galdamez Reyes, a 52-year-old with no fixed address, was struck by a motor vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. Mr. Reyes was immediately transported to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on December 4, 2018.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Section and Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the collision. The investigation is ongoing. Alexandria Police ask that witnesses or people with information regarding this incident contact Detective Ryan Clinch at 703.746.6673.
