For Immediate Release: November 30, 2018

Registration for winter classes and activities offered by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, for City residents, and Friday, December 14, for nonresidents. Winter registration includes classes, leagues, and activities occurring January through March 2019 and Spring Break Camps taking place April 15-19, 2019.

Featured programming in the winter lineup includes fitness pass options to boost your workout, the Family Splash Night schedule highlighting Alexandria schools, and Spring Break Camp options for ages 4-18. Start the new year with a neighborhood fitness pass redeemable at three locations in Alexandria; a discounted fitness pass to Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility available December 17 through January 18, 2019; or customized personal training sessions. Family Splash Nights feature swimming for all ages, floating obstacle courses, diving for prizes and swimming skill assessments throughout the winter season. Spring Break Camp options offer something for every interest, including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics), Sports, Aquatics, Specialty and Classic Camps.

Registration will be available online or in-person at the Registration & Reservation Office (1108 Jefferson St.). For a complete list of options, including those that do not require registration, the Winter 2019 Program Guide is available online and printed copies are available at all Alexandria recreation, nature and arts centers, and libraries.
