[Archived] Project Discovery to Host Meet-and-Greet for ACPS Students, Parents

The Project Discovery of Alexandria Advisory Board is hosting a meet-and-greet event on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1900 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria.

The event is an opportunity for Alexandria Public School students between 9th and 12th grade and their parents, to learn how the Project Discovery of Alexandria Club can prepare students for secondary education.

This event will include a brief presentation to highlight benefits of the Club to students that include campus field trips, scholarship opportunities and more. This meet-and-greet is a way to engage students and parents on ways to help them achieve their goals of education post high school graduation.

Project Discovery of Alexandria is an after-school program hosted at T.C. Williams High School. The Club meets every Thursday of the school year, and each week features a workshop or seminar on an aspect of achieving entry into secondary education. This is the Alexandria Chapter of the larger state-wide Project Discovery initiative.

The Project Discovery Advisory Board is a committee made up of local professionals charged with promoting and fundraising for Project Discovery of Alexandria. Members come from many different occupations and backgrounds, some graduates of the Project Discovery Program, with the goal of assisting students achieve their secondary education dreams.
