[Archived] Listening Session to Highlight Four-Year Plan for Aging Services

The Virginia Commonwealth Council on Aging and the Alexandria Division for Aging and Adult Services will hold a Listening Session on the Four-Year Plan for Aging Services 2019-2023 on Monday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to Noon, in City Hall Council Chambers, 301 King St., Alexandria.

There will be a livestream available at livestream.com/AlexandriaVAGov. The purpose of the Listening Session is to receive comments on the following topics:

The Older Americans Act core programs including Supportive Services, Nutrition, and more;
Discretionary Programs including Alzheimer's Disease Supportive Services, and more;
Participant directed/person centered planning for older adults and their caregivers;
Elder Justice Activities to prevent, detect, assess, intervene and/or investigate elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation involving programs and services across the state; and
Virginia's Funding Formula and funding allocation to the Area Agencies on Aging.

Those wishing to speak for three minutes can register at Alexandria City Hall starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22. Speakers will be taken in the order of registration and are encouraged to provide a written copy of their comments. Pre-registration for speaking order will not be possible. Each person may register only one speaker at a time.
