[Archived] City of Alexandria Seeks Community Input on Transit Vision Plan for Bus Network

For Immediate Release: October 11, 2018

The City of Alexandria, DASH Bus and other regional transit partners are seeking community input to develop a new vision for the Alexandria transit network. The Alexandria Transit Vision (ATV) Plan will redraw the local bus network to better serve current and future transit demand, and to better reflect community priorities for transit service. The City’s DASH system and other bus operators within Alexandria connect a variety of neighborhoods and transit users to places where they work, live and shop, in addition to key transit connections such as Virginia Railway Express (VRE), Amtrak and Metrorail.

The ATV Plan will involve three rounds of civic engagement to ensure that concerns and ideas of the Alexandria community are heard, recognized and incorporated into the development of a future transit network. The first round of outreach, starting this fall, will be especially critical as it will help the project team define community transit priorities and ATV Plan objectives.
