[Archived] Sandbags Available Today Beginning at 7:30 a.m.

For Immediate Release: September 10, 2018

In response to forecasted heavy rain and the potential for coastal flooding, the City of Alexandria will distribute sandbags today, beginning at7:30 a.m. at King and Lee streets in Old Town.

There is a limit of five bags per residential or business address. Proof of residency or business ownership (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) in the city must be provided.

Sandbags should be returned to the pickup location after the rain event, and should not be disposed of with normal trash or recycling.
