The Office of the Arts and the National Capital Puppetry Guild are hosting a series of monthly family-friendly puppet shows at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. The puppet show series is designed especially for the very youngest of audiences so toddlers are welcome.
On Saturday, July 21, the Barefoot Puppet Theatre will be the showcased. Heidi Rugg, Founder and Director, along with Sam Rugg, Technical Director and Set Designer are collaborators and exceptional puppeteers who bring the Barefoot puppets to life.
On Saturday, August 18, the Blue Sky Puppet Theatre will be performing. Since 1974, the Blue Sky Puppet Theatre has been one of the finest touring children's theatres on the East Coast. Performing 1,000 shows a year which are dedicated to excellence in theatre, art, education and fun.
