[Archived] First Friday: “Taste of Cinco de Mayo” – May 4

Plan to bring your family to First Friday: “Taste of Cinco de Mayo” at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. on Friday, May 4.  The evening will be showcase Mexican music food, music and dance.  Mexican culinary delights start your evening sponsored by local restaurants.  Food sponsors to date are El Tipico, El Paso, Los Tios Grill, Los Toltecos, San Antonio and Taqueria Poblano restaurants.  

Meet and Greet begins at 6 p.m. The Mobile Art Lab will be on hand with some interactive art activities beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The Quetzales Mexican Dance Ensemble, Northern Virginia's premier Mexican folkloric performing company will provide a spectacular performance beginning at 7 p.m.  Live music will be provided during the evenings’ festivities by the “Son de Lucha” who will provide traditional Jarocho style rural music of Veracruz in the Golf region of Mexico.

The "Taste of Cinco de Mayo" is part of the "First Fridays" Series.   The Series is a project of the Office of the Arts, a division of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities.
