Endalkachew Merid, 55, charged in the homicide of June Seay from October 18, 2017, has been extradited and transported to Alexandria. 

Police Investigate a Homicide, Suspect Charged

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in the 200 block of N. Howard Street.

At approximately 6:40 p.m., police were dispatched to a check on the welfare call at a residence. Upon arriving, officers located June Seay, a 55-year-old City resident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The male suspect, a 55-year-old City resident, is in police custody at an area hospital with self-inflicted injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition. He has been charged with Murder regarding the death of Ms. Seay. The individuals knew each other.
