The Alexandria Beautification Commission, in partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension, announces a series of educational focusing on ways residents can beautify their homes and neighborhoods using sustainable landscaping practices. The program is free and open to the public.
The
first in the series is: How did your garden perform this year?
Looking for tips for next year? will take place Wednesday, November 8 from
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth
Ave. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss with fellow
gardeners their garden, identify techniques to unpack their garden and learn
about woody plants you can still add that will provide interest this winter.

coordination with the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural
Activities, the Beautification Commission is a twelve-member advisory unit that
represents citizens' values in City beautification matters and coordinates
projects to encourage and achieve beautification.
