[Archived] Alexandrians Get ‘Behind the Scenes’ Look at Local Workforce Development Center

On Sept. 28, in recognition of Workforce Development Month, the City of Alexandria Workforce Development Center (WDC) hosted an Open House at its headquarters at 1900 N. Beauregard St., Suite 300, Alexandria.

Attendees were able to meet with Nationally Certified Workforce Development Staff; tour WDC to learn about services and program offerings; and hear directly from local Employers and Job Seekers.

Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg and City Manager Mark Jinks presented WDC with City Proclamations highlighting its community impact.

Those in attendance heard directly from local employers and job seekers about how they have benefitted from the programs and services provided by the WDC.

The City of Alexandria Workforce Development Center provides job preparation services to city residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Services are provided to a diverse population with varying skill levels, ranging from those with less than high school to advanced degrees. Services and resources for job seekers include Career Center access, career readiness workshops, career assessments and customized hiring events.
