For Immediate Release: September 25, 2017
National Preparedness Month may be drawing to a close, but there is still time to learn how to prepare for any emergency that arises. Join the Alexandria Fire Department, Volunteer Alexandria, and other community partners for an Emergency Preparedness Fair on Wednesday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Market Square (301 King St.). During the free event, attendees will get valuable information about innovative ways to prepare for emergencies; learn the roles community organizations play when disaster strikes; and learn how to help their communities “be ready” by becoming a volunteer.
This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Emergency Management, Volunteer Alexandria, the Medical Reserve Corps, Community Emergency Response Team and American Red Cross.
