The Alexandria Office of the Arts, in collaboration with the National Capital Puppetry Guild, launched a news series of monthly family-friendly puppet shows at the Durant Arts Center, located at 1605 Cameron St. Joe Pipik’s Backpack Puppets will be featured on Saturday, September 23.
Backpack Puppets have delighted audiences from New York to Honolulu and will entertain children of all ages. An award winning theatre artist, and with a career spanning for more than three decades, Joe has created and performed around the mid-Atlantic region and nationwide with the Blue Sky Puppet Theatre and with Dinorock puppets. Actor, puppeteer, juggler, songwriter, musician, and education consultant, he is a master artist with Wolf Trap’s Early Learning Institute.
