[Archived] Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing on N. Henry Street
For Immediate Release
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Thursday, September 14, 2017, in the 900 block of N. Henry Street.
At approximately 1:27 a.m., police were dispatched to a felonious assault call at a residence. Upon arriving, officers located two victims who had been stabbed.
A female victim, Dasheria Barksdale, a 30-year-old City resident, was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. A male victim, a 27-year-old City resident, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
The suspect, a 23-year-old City resident is in police custody at an area hospital with self-inflicted injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition.
