City of Alexandria to Resurface Portions of Northbound U.S. Route 1 Beginning September 17

For Immediate Release: September 8, 2017

On September 17, the City of Alexandria will begin resurfacing all northbound lanes of Patrick Street (U.S. Route 1) between Franklin Street and First Street. Paving will take place overnight on weeknights between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting. The work, which will be conducted in three-block sections, is expected to be completed by October 8.

Parking will be restricted on the affected street sections during the project’s work hours for the duration of the paving. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted before construction activity begins. Traffic in the immediate and surrounding areas may also be redirected. Please observe all parking and detour signage. Vehicles parked contrary to posted signs may be ticketed or towed.
