[Archived] National Drug & Alcohol Recovery Month Celebration

Strengthen Families and Communities
Event held in Recognition of National Drug and Alcohol Recovery Month

September 8, 2017

In recognition of National Recovery Month, the community is invited to attend a family friendly celebration including a moon bounce and children’s activities, a cookout, music, inspiring speakers, prizes and most importantly, the opportunity to cheer on Alexandrians who are on the path to recovery from mental health and substance use conditions.

The celebration will be held on Wednesday, September 13, from 4-7 p.m at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson Street.

Information will be available about prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse, recovery and supporting someone in recovery, or helping someone enter treatment.

Your encouragement makes a difference, so come celebrate and share in the message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.

This annual event is sponsored by the Department of Community and Human Services and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria with the support of additional co-sponsors.
