For Immediate Release: September 7, 2017

On Friday, September 15, the City of Alexandria will celebrate PARK(ing) Day, a worldwide event promoting the importance of preserving and creating public green space in urban areas.

Join City staff at Market Square (301 King St.), from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where metered parking spaces near City Hall will be temporarily transformed into “parklets.” The public can explore these parklets, talk with staff from various City agencies, and enjoy music and refreshments. Additional parklets sponsored by private organizations may be seen throughout the City.
