[Archived] Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash on S. Van Dorn Street

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, July 15, 2017, in the 100 block of S. Van Dorn Street.

At approximately 9:41 p.m., police responded to the area for a single vehicle crash. Initial investigation indicates a man was driving northbound on S. Van Dorn Street when he was involved in a minor crash with little damage. The driver, Zain Siddiqui, 22, a City resident, was conscious and transported to the hospital. Once at the hospital his medical condition worsened and he died. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
