The City of Alexandria Mobile Art Lab present the inaugural
LIT! Festival featuring Brown Rice Family on Friday, July 21 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St. This event is free and will take place rain
or shine.
All ages are welcome to come and experience a reggae-fusion
band Brown Rice Family “today's freshest world roots band jamming towards
global solidarity and organic happiness. Guided by a strong belief in the natural
flow of things, Brown Rice Family provides the masses with a distinctively
organic World Roots Music, which encompasses Reggae, Hip-Hop, Dance Hall, Afro Beat, Jazz Styling, Rock, Brazilian, Latin, and Funk.”
In addition to live music there will be an amazing dance
performance by the Jamaican dance group, 1 Nation Dancers. Participants will
also be able to enjoy free activities including henna tattoos, tribal face
painting, and screen-printed hats by Soul & Ink. Additionally, guest will
be able to document all their LIT! fun at our free photo booth.
For you tasting pleasure, there will be food truck vendors
for delicious bites to eat and flavored frozen treats and free ice water. Don’t
forget to bring your lawn chairs, blankets and friends and family.
