[Archived] Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash on S. Henry Street

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the 300 block of S. Henry Street.
 
At approximately 3:11 a.m., police responded to the area for a single vehicle crash. Initial investigation indicates Simon Pedro Urbina-Vasquez, a 27-year-old Fairfax County resident, was driving southbound on S. Henry Street when he lost control of his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Two passengers were also in the vehicle. A 24-year-old Fairfax County resident was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and a 24-year-old Silver Spring, MD resident died from injuries on scene. The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified. 

The driver, Urbina-Vasquez, has been charged with Vehicular Manslaughter (DUI related) and is being held without bond.
