In response to aquatic and
recreation needs, the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility will not reduce
hours for the summer as previously advertised. Therefore, the Chinquapin Center
will continue to operate as follows:
To accommodate the growing
demand in use of the City’s outdoor pools, the Old Town and Memorial Pools will
offer expanded morning operations. Now through August 4, the outdoor pools will
operate additional morning hours as follows:
The City of Alexandria’s
Wahoo Swim Team has more than 180 swimmers participating in the competitive
Colonial Swim League this summer. The team practices and trains at the Old Town
Pool each weekday afternoon from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. To ensure a safe pool
experience during practice hours, general admission swim may be limited to
three (3) lanes for general admission swim.
In addition, the Old Town
Pool will close early for Wahoos’ competitive swim meets as follows:
Please be reminded of increased traffic congestion and limited parking around the Old Town Pool during swim meets is expected.
