[Archived] Alexandria Health Department Hosts “Food Safety and You” Public Meeting

For Immediate Release: June 12, 2017

Summer is here--and with it, comes concerns about food safety at picnics, on vacations, at public events, restaurants, and other venues. On Monday, June 26, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., join the Alexandria Health Department for a special Food Safety Advisory Council meeting and dialogue about food safety. Learn about the role your health department plays in ensuring food safety in City of Alexandria, and how you can maintain food safety in your home and community. The meeting will be held at the Nannie J. Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St., in the Gold Room.

Representatives from the Alexandria Health Department will discuss services provided by the Environmental Health Division to ensure food safety, and the public is invited to provide feedback on how to improve these services for the community. Attendees will also receive important information, tips and techniques on how to “Fight Bac” – and keep food safe at home, and on the road, all year round.
