[Archived] Six Alexandrians to Be Recognized for Service, Community Impact

The Alexandria Commission on Aging will host its 2017 Excellence in Aging Awards on Tuesday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the Vola Lawson Lobby of City Hall at 301 King Street.

The awards will be presented by Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg, followed by a reception.

Six awardees will receive awards in four categories:

• The Annie B. Rose Award - Carol Siegel and William (Bill) Clayton
  Recognizes an individual whose exemplary achievements span a lifetime of public service.
• The Lois Van Valkenburgh Excellence in Aging Award - Mary Lee Anderson
  Recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to elevating the quality of life for older adults in Alexandria within the past year.
• The Excellence in Aging Award - Rebuilding Together Alexandria
  An organization that has made outstanding contributions to elevating the quality of life of older Alexandrians.
• The Public Service Award - Debbie Ludington and Arthur Thomas
  Recognizes a City of Alexandria employee who has advanced, improved or otherwise contributed to making Alexandria a more livable community for all ages during the course of their job.
