[Archived] Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities Invites You to Take Cameron Run Park Planning Survey 2

Your opportunity to Vote, Prioritize and Compare Visions for the future of Cameron Run Park

For Immediate Release: April 28, 2017

The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) and community planners at Michael Baker International’s Urban Design Studio continue to work with the community in determining the highest and best use for the Cameron Run Park on Eisenhower Avenue between Telegraph Road and the Eisenhower Connector.  On Thursday, April 27, the project team revealed options based on feedback received from public engagement sessions and a survey in phase two of the planning process.

During phase two of the planning process, the project team provided information about the project goals, the lease, the history, zoning, and environmental issues.  Participants in approximately 20 public stakeholder and community meetings, more than 400 respondents to Survey 1, and emails received provided extremely valuable feedback.  In the final phase of the planning process, the project team will develop and refine concepts for the vision of Cameron Run Park’s future.

We Want to Hear from You! The project team invites you to take Cameron Run Park Planning Survey 2 to provide YOUR choice of the best of six (6) conceptual plans, prioritize park elements, and even try your hand at choosing the park elements that are most important to you in determining the highest and best use for the Cameron Run Park.

The information gathered from Survey 2 will contribute to the refinement of concepts for the vision of Cameron Run Park’s future. Final concepts will be presented to the Park & Recreation Commission in June and a recommendation will be presented to City Council in early fall 2017.
