[Archived] City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities to host Family Splash Night with Special Guests from the Howard University Swim Team

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities to host Family Splash Night with Special Guests from the Howard University Swim Team on Friday, April 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, 3210 King St. Chinquapin’s Family Splash Nights are held throughout the school year and co-sponsored by the Chinquapin Advisory Council. Each night features an Alexandria School, but all families are welcome.

The featured ACPS School for the April 28 Family Splash Night is Mount Vernon Elementary.  The Howard University Swim Team will be joining participating families, with team members giving demonstrations, interacting with families who don’t know how to swim yet, and inviting those that do to participate in relays. The Howard University Swim Team is the only NCAA Division I HBCU Swimming and Diving program, and they will be available to answer questions from parents and children.
