[Archived] Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Office of the Arts Invites You to the 7th Annual March150 Art Party

For Immediate Release: March 21, 2017

Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Office of the Arts invites you to the 7th Annual March150 Art Party on Friday, March 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, located at 105 N. Union St.

Organized by Target Gallery, the contemporary exhibition space of the Torpedo Factory, this yearly all-media exhibition features 200 works created by artists local to Alexandria and the greater D.C. region. During Friday’s Art Party, all work is priced at $100, otherwise it is $150. Proceeds benefit Target Gallery, the Torpedo Factory, and future exhibitions and programs.

March150 is a perpetual regional favorite. This exhibition is a low-pressure environment, which encourages new art collectors to buy original work and exposes seasoned collectors to new artists.

During the Art Party, guests have an opportunity to mingle with other art enthusiasts and meet many of the artists who have work on view. The evening also features music, a photo booth, live performances by darlingdance, and artist awards. Artist awards will be given by Katy Chang, chef and founder of EatsPlace, and Suzanne Bethel, executive director of The Art League. Party attendees can vote for the People’s Choice Award, with a prize presented by Target Gallery.

Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. There is an optional $15 add-on ticket for a guests to dine on some of the region’s best local fare with EatsPlace
