For Immediate Release: February 13, 2017

The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) and community planners at Michael Baker International’s Urban Design Studio will hold the first community meeting for the Cameron Run Park Planning Process on Thursday, March 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Beatley Central Library, 5005 Duke St. The purpose of the planning process is to assist in determining the highest and best use for the Cameron Run Park on Eisenhower Ave. between Telegraph Road and the Eisenhower Connector.

Public engagement is key to this planning process and we want to hear from you. Cameron Run Park is a unique place with special qualities, as well as significant environmental features that could affect any long-term use. We are seeking the community’s input as to how the site can best serve the public in the future. The meeting will be part presentation and part workshop, and will contain the following agenda items:

The information gathered from this community meeting, in addition further community engagement activities, will help contribute to the next steps in the planning process, which is the development of concepts for the future of the park.
