[Archived] Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities Celebrates Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, the public is invited to attend the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities’ Black History Month Celebration on Sunday, February 26 at the Lee Center Richard Kauffman Auditorium, 1108 Jefferson St., at 2 p.m. This free program features the recognition of three former employees, Lawrence "Lucky" Elliott, Traverse Gray, and Jackie Mason for their more than four decades of service to the Alexandria community.  In addition, local R&B singing group Nu Era and a youth cheerleading team and dance group from neighborhood recreation centers will provide entertainment.
