Wear purple, green and gold while enjoying the “Not So Modern Jazz Band Quartet” by attending the First Friday: “Mardi Gras in Alexandria scheduled for Friday, February 3 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. Celebrate Mardi Gras carnival customs without leaving Alexandria. Make a Mardi Gras mask or bring your own and plan to participate in the evening’s Mardi Gras parade.
A “meet and greet” begins at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be available, complements of the Office of the Arts. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Advance per person reservations: $5 residents; $10 nonresidents. At door: $10 residents; $15 nonresidents. No experience is necessary and one adult must accompany children.
