[Archived] Alexandria City Council Meeting Postponed to 1:30 p.m.

For Immediate Release: December 17, 2016

Due to icy road conditions, the Alexandria City Council meeting scheduled for Saturday, December 17, at 9:30 a.m. has been postponed to 1:30 p.m.  

City snow and ice response teams remain deployed in response to freezing rain and ice. Crews have completed treatment on primary and most secondary routes, and work is now focused on hills and trouble spots in residential areas. Treatment will continue until temperatures rise later this morning.  The Virginia Department of Transportation reports significant icing on Interstates 395 and 495. 
 
Use caution when walking and driving, since untreated streets and sidewalks remain ice covered at this time.
