[Archived] Alexandria’s Beatley Library Opens for Absentee Voting

For Immediate Release:  October 26, 2016

Alexandrians who qualify to vote absentee for the November 8 General Election may cast an absentee ballot in person at Beatley Library or the Alexandria Voter Registration Office.

Many Alexandria voters are eligible to vote absentee, for example, if they are:

Absentee Voting in Person

To cast an in-person absentee ballot, go to either site listed below during the scheduled hours. The deadline for casting an absentee ballot in person is Saturday, November 5, at 5 p.m.

Thursday, October 27             12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, October 28                  12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 29              10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, October 31               12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 1             12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, November 2        12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday, November 3           12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, November 4                12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, November 5            10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Absentee Voting By Mail

The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, November 1. Applications must be received in the Voter Registration Office by 5 p.m. on this day.

Voters may submit absentee ballot applications online, https://vote.elections.virginia.gov. They may also get a paper application online at alexandriava.gov/Elections, or mailed to them by contacting the Alexandria Voter Registration Office at 703.746.4050.

What’s on the Ballot?

In Alexandria, the November 8 ballot includes U.S. President and Vice President, U.S. House of Representatives, and two Proposed Amendments to the Virginia Constitution.
