[Archived] City of Alexandria to Host the 2nd Annual Alexandria International Festival

The City of Alexandria 2nd Annual Alexandria International Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St. in Historic Old Town Alexandria.  Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine.

Alexandria values diversity and inclusion that represents over 100  nationalities and all seven continents and speaks over 100 languages, October is National Diversity Month Awareness celebrates heritages at the Alexandria International Festival. A day of celebration will incorporate many festive activities.

Come and indulge yourself and family with multicultural food, available for purchase.  Visit the World Arts and Craft Market tents with items from around the world in time for the holiday shopping.  Dress in your favorite ethnic garment and bring your family and friends.  Bring your country's flag to hang in the Hall of Nations around the grounds. Live entertainment will be provided with a global presence from Morocco, Ireland, Bolivia, Armenia, Ghana, Brazil, Ethiopia, Hawaii and more. Come and celebrate and get engaged with community dancing with a Dee-jay to celebrate heritages.

Visitors in the Historic District are encouraged to take the Metro Yellow or Blue lines to Ming Street Station in Old Town and take the free King Street Trolley, DASH or Metro Buses to the park.  The last Trolley will depart lower King Street at 11:45 p.m.   For DASH schedule information, call 703.746.5592 or visit dashbus.com.  For Metrobus schedule, call 202.637.7000 or visit wmata.com.
