[Archived] Police Investigate Pedestrian Crash on Yoakum Parkway

For Immediate Release

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a pedestrian crash that occurred on Monday, October 3, 2016, near the 300 block of Yoakum Parkway.

At approximately 7:11 p.m., police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Initial investigation indicates a 90-year-old woman was crossing the street when a 51-year-old woman struck her with her vehicle. The driver remained on the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition. 

Members of the Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing. Alexandria Police ask that witnesses or people with information regarding this incident contact Investigator Greg Holden at 703.746.6184.
