[Archived] Alexandria Police Investigate Rape on S. Pickett Street

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a rape and abduction that occurred in the 200 block of S. Pickett Street this afternoon.

At approximately 2:09 p.m., a 24-year-old woman called police to report she had been abducted and raped by an unknown suspect. The victim is a lifeguard at a pool in the 200 block of S. Pickett Street. An unknown man approached the victim while she was at work; no one else was at the pool. He brandished a firearm and raped the victim. The victim was able to call for help after the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-thirties, tall and thin, with short hair and dark eyes. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans and a blue baseball cap.
